1st Day of Spring

Today is officially the first day of spring. Spring is the return of new life. The bare trees begin to flower delicate blossoms, the chirping of birds is more prominent and the ground begins to regain its green. The world becomes more colorful. The earth has begun a new cycle of life. What was once dead now is alive again.

It's so fitting that Easter, only 2 weeks away, is celebrated during this time of year. A time when we remember the death and sacrifice of Jesus and rejoice in celebration of His Resurrection! He once was dead and now is ALIVE again. Do you see the connection?  It's a wonderful parallel.

Even though it's spring the benefits do not come immediately. The flowers don't just pop out of the ground as if they were on a timer. It takes time. The ice must thaw. The sun must shine. The showers must fall. There is still work to be had before the colors return. Just as it is in nature, so it is in life.

There are times where we still feel as we are in the midst of winter. Our circumstances have worn us down. The choices that others have made have turned our world upside. The unexpected or expect loss of love ones have rendered our heart broken. It seems as winter will never end and spring but an ancient myth. The darkest of doubts encompass your mind leaving you tired and weak.

These trials are not permanent. They are not forever. They are only for a season. Just as the ice must thaw, the sun must shine and the showers must fall so it is with us. God will guide you out to the other side. God will thaw the bitter ice and shine his SON in our lives and rain down his blessings on us.

He is there for you at every moment. He never leaves your side. "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."(Psalm 34:18)
Go to Him in prayer and worship."The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. " (Exodus 15:2)
He will provide you with everything you need to get through the winter. "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

Remember the ice will thaw, the sun will shine and the showers will fall; Spring will arrive in God's perfect timing.

"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." - 1 Corinthians 12:9
