Heavenly Father (4/13/16)

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your wonderful love, grace and mercy. You have been my constant, my rock and my refugee. You have guided my path into directions I never would have thought to go. Lord, recently I have been questioning my desire to continue in the path I find myself. Is this restlessness from you? Is it God given? Do you have another path you want me to take? Father I ask for insight. Lord guide me. Father light the path you want me to take. Show me without a shadow of a doubt the directions/steps to take. Father, I rebuke any unnecessary fear that I may feel in whatever you ask me to do. If this fear is coming from the enemy, erase it and feel it withe courage and faith. Guard my heart and mind, Lord. Lord, I'm also asking for a miracle. Scott and I, for 10 years now, have this desire to have children. Lord bless us with a child. I'm being pushy now, Bless us with children! Lord, cover these children with your love, mercy and grace. Lord perform a MIRA...

I'm blessed to work in a Christian School.  It's an immense blessing to share the Gospel with my students and their families. One of the many advantages of my work is the opportunity for the teachers to come together in the morning and have a time of devotions. It's a wonderful time to focus on God and prepare ourselves for the day. This year the administration has set aside Wednesday as a time of praise and worship. I feel it has been a wonderful addition to my week. Today as a fellow teacher/friend lead worship I was touched, especially by the last song.           "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face                      And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,                               In ...

Happy Easter!! Today is a day of celebration! Christ is Risen! Death has lost its sting. It no longer holds power over us. Christ stands in victory.  Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. Here is where my hope is found. The best way to express this wonderful day is through a couple of verses from one of my favorite songs, "In Christ Alone" by Stuart Townend & Keith Getty                            Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,                                For I am His and He is mine -                      Bought with the precious blood of Christ.           ...

Saying Good-bye

Today is the last day for one of kids. She and her mom will be moving down under to Australia. Ysabella is a first year highlander. Unlike most of my students she didn't attend HCS preschool. She came fresh from an outside school. Though she didn't have the Highlands background, she was completely prepared for kindergarten. With our academics being a year ahead than normal, there is always a bit of concern for those new kids, but that wasn't the case with her. She flourished. The first time I met Ysabella wasn't on the first day of school. It was actually during the summer at the "Free Kindergarten Day."  It was a day of fun activities and some academic work, a mini preview of kindergarten. It was a four hour day and Ysabella was one of the participating kids. She was quiet and a bit shy. Very timid. She reminded me of myself at that age. She opened up a bit but not much. By the end of the day, I knew I wanted her in my kindergarten class. I prayed that sh...
