See you later, Tica

I've been putting off writing this particular post for weeks now. I knew that once I started writing,  reality would set in and I would have to accept the fact that one of my closest friends would be moving. I can't avoid it any longer. For the past 10 years I've had the pleasure of knowing Gloria Johanna Castillo, or as I call her Joha. We met at work, she was teaching art and I was teaching kindergarten. Her daughter, Abby was in my class. Joha is one of those people that draws other people. She is vibrant, passionate and loving. I could see her passion in her art, her love in the children and her vibrancy in her personality. Throughout these past 10 years I have gotten to know a very special woman. I have seen her through good times and bad times. I have seen her grow in her faith and inspire others. I have seen her be an advocate for those without a voice. Today is the day that we have looked forward to yet dreaded. Today 2 of our best friends will travel across the country to fulfill their calling in life, Missionaries. It's a joy and a blessing to see them go through the process of following God's will. It has been a 2 year journey whose chapter ends here and will continue in Georgia. We said our farewells this past weekend at an open house and a church gathering. Each time trying to fight back tears; unsuccessfully at times. They have been part of our family for so long, that having to see them go has been difficult. Yet it has also been a time of joy, for they have been called to serve God in a most wonderful way. Gino, Laura, Sean, Kayleigh and Hugh,               We are so blessed that God allowed us to cross paths. Our lives have been changed because of...

It has been fun but I need to sleep at a decent hour at least one night this week. Well, I'm choosing to spend this break to with some dear friends. Gino and Laura Quinn have been our close friends for over 10 years. We met at church when we were all dating and we where just starting our adult lives. Our acquaintance grow into a beautiful friendship. We stood in each others weddings and have been part of the most important moments, especially celebrating their 3 precious children.  Theirs is a friendship that Scott & I deeply cherish.  In the past year or two they have been preparing to move to Georgia. The Lord has called them to the mission field. Now I know what you're thinking, Georgia doesn't need missionaries, its part of the bible belt! Yes, this is true. The organization, Operation Mobilisation...
