Grace
Grace.
Webster has several definitions of what it means. I found the first intriguing.
1.unmerited divine assistance given humans for their
regeneration or sanctification
Unmerited divine assistance. This is so true. Grace is an undeserved gift. It is given freely and without condition. Grace is a beautiful thing. It's originator is God. It's a virtue that comes from God. Grace only exists because of God.
First, through His grace we are saved. He sent down His only Son to die for our sins so that we could one day live with Him for eternity. He gave a precious gift to undeserving souls. His love and grace have no bounds.
Recently my spiritual family have been going through hardships. It has been a hard road for them to take. They have been stretched to their limits. Mother Theresa once said, " I know that God will not give me anything I can't handle, I just wish He didn't trust me so much." In a humorous way she expressed how my friends most likely have been feeling. We know in our hearts that this is true, yet our head becomes ruled with worries and doubt.
We must constantly remind ourselves of the truths that God has left us:
"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he
will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the
temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able
to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Yes, this cliche is true, however I must amend it a bit. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger in God. Nothing is impossible with God, after all it's in the word, I'm possible with God. His grace carries you through the hard times.
"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." 2 Corinthians 12:9
In our weakness He is strong. His power is perfected in our weakness. Humility is essential if we are to rest in God's grace. If we still have the attitude of "I can do this by myself", then grace can't really complete it's purpose. Grace works best when the receiver releases all and wraps themselves in God's arms. Everything you need to overcome is provided by God, through grace. His grace is sufficient, enough.
God gives you enough to fight, endure and come out victorious for His Glory.
Remember, through His grace God has
Grafted us
Reconciled us
Adopted us
Changed us
Engaged us ....to Himself.
Adopted us
