West Side Story

A few years ago my husband gave me the best gift, a subscription to Hillbarn Theater in Foster City, a community theater. The subscription is for 6 plays. The theater is very intimate making every seat in the house a great seat. Hillbarn's plays are very diverse from well known production and some not so well known but all fabulous. I love it and we have continued the              
                                                             subscription since. It makes for perfect date
                                                              nights.

Recently we have subscribed to another playhouse in San Jose, Broadway San Jose. This theater is much bigger and the plays are more well known. The subscription is also for 6 plays. The downside is that because its a bigger theater not all the seats are great seats. Our season seats are way in the back but it's still enjoyable, the productions are quite elaborate.  Because  it's in San Jose we opted for matinee tickets which allows us to make date days.

Today we are on our way to see West Side Story in San Jose. This is one of my favorite musicals. The music is fantastic and the choreography sublime. With New York as a backdrop and dancing gangsters what can possibly go wrong.  The modern Romeo Juliet story is full of love, hate, secret rendezvous, turf wars, betrayal,  fouetté and grand jeté.

It's going to be a fun day date!!
