Thank you for 33 years



Father God,

      Let me start by expressing my greatest gratitude for giving me life. Thank you for granting me that opportunity. Thank you for laying out a plan for my life. Thank you taking me through it step by step. Thank you for your love, mercy, faithfulness and amazing grace. Thank you for the people that you've put in my path. Thank you for those who caused me pain because they brought me closer to you. Thank you for those that have brought me joy for they are a reminder of your love. Thank you for leaving the 99 to seek me out when I stray. Thank you for your discipline that is delivered in love. Thank you for my family. Thank you for the my godly parents, for they have guided me to you. Thank you for my brothers who daily reflect the meaning of loyalty and devotion. Thank you for my husband who allows me to be myself. Thank you for creating someone for me. Thank you for my dear friends. They have been a daily encouragement and a shower of love. Thank you the completed family you have formed around me. I look at all those around me and I see your love and thought for me.

     Forgive me for all the times that I second thought your motives. Forgive my doubt. Forgive me for not laying my burdens down completely. Forgive me for thinking I don't need your help. Forgive me for straying away. Forgive me for my disobedience. Forgive me for not putting you first always.

You have taught me so many things these past 33 years. You've allowed me to fall, but only to rise me up for your glory. You've taken my million pottery shards scattered along the road and gently mended me. You have seen my darkness and offered your light. You saw my pain and brought healing. You have walked this journey with me without a fault. You have shown me unconditional love.

You are the greatest gift. Thank you for thinking I was worth your life. Thank you.

Obedience brings Victory. And Victory is Life

I'm a big Star Trek fan. I've enjoyed almost ever incarnation of this Sci-Fi giant. Recently my husband and I have been watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. One of the enemies for this particular series are the Jem'Hadar. These creatures are genetically engineered for battle and controlled through a drug called ketracel-white; which they require to function properly. Their mantra is "Obedience brings Victory. And Victory is Life." Every time they say this, I cringe. They are following orders from people who don't care for them and whose only goal is their own survival. I always felt it was such a terrible mantra. But today I had a revelation.  During today's sermon, my pastor was going over John 10, The Good Shepherd. One of his points was how do we ensure that we can hear our Good Shepherd's (Jesus) voice. We need to read His word, meditate in His word, memorize His word and obey  His word. Through obeying His word & voice we find life.

Heavenly Father (4/13/16)

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your wonderful love, grace and mercy. You have been my constant, my rock and my refugee. You have guided my path into directions I never would have thought to go. Lord, recently I have been questioning my desire to continue in the path I find myself. Is this restlessness from you? Is it God given? Do you have another path you want me to take? Father I ask for insight. Lord guide me. Father light the path you want me to take. Show me without a shadow of a doubt the directions/steps to take. Father, I rebuke any unnecessary fear that I may feel in whatever you ask me to do. If this fear is coming from the enemy, erase it and feel it withe courage and faith. Guard my heart and mind, Lord. Lord, I'm also asking for a miracle. Scott and I, for 10 years now, have this desire to have children. Lord bless us with a child. I'm being pushy now, Bless us with children!
